This chapter aims to teach one of the holding guard positions, "Guarda de espera alta à ponta do pau na posição esquerda" (for athletes with the dominant right hand).
It is common in combat to use the type of movement that is quickest and that most facilitates the rotation of each attack or places the body in the most appropriate defensive position. For that, we have to include two more movements: Avançar and Sair.
Being the opposite movement to the previous one, "Sair" works in the same way.
"Sarilho Traçado" is an attack technique that is forced to turn into a defense, that works as a great exercise for increasing ease in handling the staff and acquiring coordination. In this case attacks and defenses from "pancadas enviesadas"
"Sarilho de Quelha " is an attack technique that is forced to turn into a defense, simulating a fight in a narrow street (quelha) a great exercise for increasing ease in handling the staff and acquiring coordination. In this case attacks are "pancadas arrepiadas and defenses from "pancadas enviesadas" or "de alto a baixo"
